Good point. City size is relative. Before moving here 20 years ago, I lived
in Columbus, Ohio. They grew as a city by expanding their geographic
boundaries. Nice place with a city population greater than Minneapolis, but
I prefer Minneapolis. Grew up happily in Milwaukee, but still like
Minneapolis better.

But this metro is the 14th largest. Bigger than both of those places, and
bigger than all but one on the list below.  Metro population is a more
meaningful measure of size. Minneapolis does not operate as an island.

And saying that those who moved to Minneapolis since the 70's have only
brought problems is pretty parochial point of view. Besides, this city and
state have the lowest levels of immigration of major metros. Don't have my
hands on the figures just now, but given the size of this market, there
could be a lot more immigration.
