Dennis [Plante],WM: I haven't found that to be the case in my neighborhood. Success is still uneven, but we have made progress in contending with long-term problems through cooperation among different parts of the police department. I've been more than once disappointed that some CCP practices have been codified (as was bound to happen), and it's no longer wild and woolly as it was. However, more miscreants are winding up spending time for their most egregious conduct. Codification does bring some consistency. Also, the county, responsible for felony trials and deals, has become more pro-active than it once was. The city attorney's office still hasn't gotten entirely on board, but individual city attorneys are holding the line on repeat offenders in better ways. If the service you are getting isn't up to par, then complain, not to us, but to what's his name (Bonner?) who is now in charge of CCP/SAFE. Better yet, talk to the person you don't think is up to snuff.
There is the problem. The CCP Safe department are basically incompetent and should be dissolved. Then those police officers can be back on the street doing real police work.
By the way, rumor has it that that landlord you refer to knowingly rents toWM: He won't be the first one, nor the last. Sad, ain't it?
dealers in some of his buildings and takes "part of the action".
