Actually folks, the new Board room is setup to be able to do television - it is the time on a station and other necessities like camera people, etc. that have not occurred due to budget constraints. Sme of those costs would also be incurred even if we were at City Hall.
But I assure you we will continue to work on this TV business and certainly will have it in next year's budget as the worst case scenario.
For the moment,
Annie Young
citywide Park commissioner
I still think it would work better to hold Park Board Meetings in the City Council Chambers. I think it will be obvious to people they are Park Board Meetings with a Park Board Meeting Backdrop. That will make them more bus accessible.
Also - I think the costs will be less to do it that way, rather than doing it the way Annie Young is proposing.
I think it's also long past time for the Park Board and the City to work on consolidating things that make sense. Why does the Parks have separate garbage departments for example?
Hopefully some Minneapolis Issues folks will be at this Park Board meeting - and can send some first hand reports.
