The big question: are they as reliable and efficient? Would they be as
"painless" as the system we have know which has generated a high degree
of participation in my corner of Minneapolis. I think a lot people like
their mission and commitment!

Subject: [Mpls] Garbage

Single stream garbage collection would not be good for Minneapolis or
the
environment.

It may seem counter intuitive but we now have trained and committed
recyclers
in Minneapolis. Some of that commitment is connected to the expectation
that
this really is having an impact on getting our resources recycled. The
sorting
creates a physical habit.

I like the Eureka trucks. I like their mission. I like their message. I
like
that they are a nonprofit concerned with sustainability. I like that
they are
looking at the long term big picture of costs to citizens.

I think single stream is off the table and we are talking an extension
of
current practice.....

I have seen nothing to convince me Waste Management is the Better
choice.
Is there anyone on the list who prefers Waste Management?

Thanks,
Scott Vreeland
