WM: Yes, they should be ashamed. Particularly when the state and metro council stand to "save" some $12.8 million (roughly) if the strike goes on for the two months they hope to have. By then, many people will have lost their jobs without transportation to and from work, companies/agencies who relied on employees showing up will have lost $ on deadlines not met, thousands will be griping around like bears with sore butts, and, once again, the poor and the working poor will be at each others throats. The MCTO employees will have their finances thrown into a cocked hat. How utterly charming. Now this is Minnesota Nice straight up, no chaser.Mr. Pawlenty and Mr. Bell seem to take relish in making "whipping boys" out of the striking drivers. Frankly, those two should be a huge source of embarrassment to the self-serving "Me" generation (which is my generation too, and a little distressing to have to confess). They've really gone over the top with this issue, and shown their me-first colors pretty blatantly; What's good for me is good for you, what's bad for me is bad for you too. Or, if I don't ride or drive a bus, then it's not good for the metro area to have a bus network.
