I say:

A smoking and non-smoking section is pure fantasy. I
am an ex-smoker. Until I quit smoking I never realized
just how badly smoke permiated everything around it
for a very long distance. Now, I can smell the cigar
or cigarette smoke from the person sitting in front on
me at a stop light. Yesterday, I smelled the "blunt"
smell and thought someone in my driveway was smoking
cigars. I looked out the window and saw it was someone
across the street and three houses down.

If I am in a bar or restuarant that allows smoking, I
have to put my clothes in the basement or the bedroom
smells like smoke and I can still smell it in the
morning.

I can smell the smoke of smokers in the smoking
section very distinctly when I sit in the non-smoking
section of any establishment.

I am not an avid "ban smoking" advocate here. I guess
I figure if I am not in the mood to smell someone's
cigarette smoke I can stay home or go somewhere that
doesn't allow smoking. There are more and more of
those establishments out there. Business owners will
convert voluntarily if the economic pressure is on
them to do it.

If you are a strong "no-smoking" advocate choose
carefully and support those businesses that
accommodate you.

Bans just require more law enforcement. Right now we
appear to be having a difficult time just enforcing
the bans we already have in place.
