For those who think that I was speaking as a member of said "community" or that I was intending on complaining and making Ms. Baccus Khalifa's life difficult, I was most certainly not. The reason why I put community in quotations was precisely because I personally get frustrated about those who claim to represent The Community (which usually is never defined) and then procede to pick apart every candidate for appointive office until they get the candidate of their choosing. I don't know Ms. Baccus Khalifa personally and have only the info about her that I have read in the paper and on this list, but it looks like her credentials are impeccable and I agree with the post by Jonathan Palmer the other day that called on Mr. Hodges to state the reasons why he (and presumably others) are opposed to her appointment.
