I am shocked! Shocked! That Darrell Gerber, the chair of the 5th district green party would accuse me of "making misleading statements" for writing that I had received a "bare majority of the vote" at a couple of Green Party endorsing meetings in 2002 (see the passage pasted below my closing). I also sought the GP endorsement in 2001.
Quite seriously, I believe the chair of the 5th Congressional District Green Party owes me an apology. Accusing me of "making misleading statements" on such flimsy grounds is ridiculous, it serves as a distraction from a serious discussion of public school policy, and it helps to create a toxic environment for political discussion all around. -Doug Mann, King Field Minneapolis School Board candidate In a message dated 5/27/2004 9:57:25 AM Central Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: << To make sure everyone is clear, the necessary threshold to receive the Green Party endorsement in 2002 (as well as this year) was 2/3 NOT '50% plus 1'. Doug Mann did not receive the nomination in 2002 even though his support was greater than this year. While Doug's statement may be factually true it is very misleading in that someone not familiar with the rest-of-the-story could draw the wrong conclusion. Doug has sought the Green Party nomination a number of times without success. Making misleading statements like this in a public forum are not likely to improve his appeal with Green Party members.
