I am shocked! Shocked! That Darrell Gerber, the chair of the 5th district
green party would accuse me of "making misleading statements" for writing that I
had received a "bare majority of the vote" at a couple of Green Party
endorsing meetings in 2002 (see the passage pasted below my closing). I also sought
the GP endorsement in 2001.
Actually, Doug, I agree with Darrell Gerber that your statement is misleading. I'll take you at your word that you received more than 50% of the vote at the endorsing meetings in 2002. That being a true statement you - intentionally or not - implied that you received an endorsement. An entirely honest statement would've included that piece of information. By not including it your statement was, in fact, misleading.
Kari Tauring received far more than a majority of the votes at this year's district wide meeting. She did not, however, receive the endorsement. It would be misleading for me (or anyone involved in her campaign) to mention one without the other.
You made a misleading statrment. The chair of the 5th Congressional District Green Party owes you no apology for pointing it out.
