A 10 minute wait to go east on 26th street from Phillips to Seward is NOT an exaggeration. I discovered the "trick" that Annie described on my daily commute from Seward to Phillips and back. It used to be that the light on 28th was really long, but that seems to have changed with the advent of light rail. I have noticed that northbound traffic on Hiawatha can back way up at 26th street (like all the way back to 28th street) at certain times of day, which can make the right (eastbound) turn onto 26th a little difficult, but it is still much better that waiting through 3 or 4 light changes on 26th.
