Good morning I read the article and it leaves a lot to be desired for information, but I also realize a newspaper article of that length rarely tells the whole story.
What I read into that article is the number of persons that realize they can ignore the ticket gives them no incentive to stop, so those that do stop get rear ended. I for one can't wait for the cameras, and would love to propose a few intersections to put them in. Scott wrote: After I was burglarized, I modified my house to be more burglar-proof. Had I known the perps who burglarized my house, I would have went after them, but I didn't and don't. And as frustrating as that is, I know that no law against burglary would have prevented it. To this day, I don't believe that appealing to the "authorities" for more laws will protect my house from being burglarized (or from my car from being clobbered by an undocumented drunk resident of Blaine). Ron responds: Think about what affect a camera may have had on your own home, the miscreants that robbed you the second time could have been on film. Ron Leurquin Nokomis East Dan wrote: Whoah. Slow it down, there fellow citizens. A study in VA (by people who favor red-light cameras) found that the use of them increases injuries. I strongly encourage everyone to look at this before jumping on the automated law-enforcement bandwagon. http://www.thenewspaper.com/rlc/news.asp?ID=117 Dan McGrath http://www.smokeoutgary.org REMINDERS: 1.
