I was delighted to see the name of our organization
"No Stadium Tax" being promoted as an alternative to
both Peter McLaughlin and R.T. Rybeck for the DFL
endorsement for Mayor by Dyna. If I were a Minneapolis
resident, I would throw my hat in the ring as the "No
Stadium Tax" alternative.

But as a Saint Paul resident who has been working for
a Minneapolis candidate, in another race, I was trying
to determine the difference between McLaughlin and
Rybeck and I really didn't see any. When McLaughlin
came out as a booster of Billionaire Carl Pohlad and
this horrible reverse Robin Hood stadium plan, (Steal
from the poor to give to the rich), I thought, "O.K.
here's where Rybeck can make a difference. He'll come
out strongly against this idiotic plan, sweep the City
DFL convention and easily go on to win the Mayor's
race."

So imagine my disappointment when Rybeck, does a
rapid, "Me too" and shows up at the Hennepin County
Board meeting yesterday, endorsing this give-away to
the State's richest man. At that moment I became
equally disgusted with both of them. O.K. still more
with McLaughlin since he's actually pushing the plan.

As DFL'ers, they both should be denied DFL party
support. I hope that Minneapolis DFL'ers have the
gumption to take the risky step of saying No
Endorsement for either McLaughlin or Rybeck, because
of their support of this stupid stadium plan.

Politicians need to know that there are risks and
consequences of working for the ultra-rich against the
interests of the average taxpayer.
