My hope is that Mayor Rybak will only be a one term Mayor. My opinion of his approach to dealing with issues the ever present photo oppurtunity (with no substance to it) and his ongoing taking credit for things he did not do.
The latest example is the increase in police to be hired. When this looked like it wouldn not happen he blamed the legislature. Now that the legislature made it happen, he takes credit for it, and oh yes a press conference and photo op. His ongoing comments about Minneapolis being a great city increasingly irritate me. When Rome was burning back in ancient times he probably would have been hopping up and down proclaiming what pretty colors the flames are! His well known waffling, shifting positions on issues seems to be a constant. If I thought there was any chance that this Mayor would ever really work to end homelessness in this city, I would not be quite so brazen as to declare my disdain for him.
