Hi Martin,
I've been using MSEide all week (no Lazarus for a change). Things have
been working very smoothly. The new MSEide changes (global macros, tools
shortcuts etc) work very well. I've also figured out a nice system for
project templates.
But last night I hit a snag. I created an array representing Basic Latin
and Latin-1 Supplement characters for use in a LED Matrix display
widget. To help me find specific characters in the array I added a code
comment at the end of each array element and the actual character that
array element represents. The unit is UTF-8 encoded (no BOM marker), but
my actual code doesn't have any UTF-8 text - only the comments at the
end of each array entry.
MSEide can't seem to handle the UTF-8 text at all, and displays ??
instead - and causes strange reloading. Every time I paste and save a
new Latin-1 Supplement character, MSEide immediately prompts me to
reload the unit which I'm currently editing??? I kept loosing changes too.
See attached screenshot. Lazarus IDE on the left, and MSEide on the
right. Both IDE's have the same font setup for the editor... Dejavu Sans
Mono.
Eventually I had to use Lazarus IDE again so I could continue my coding.
At this point I can't continue using MSEide to edit that unit, because
it keeps converting all Latin-1 Supplement characters to double ??
symbols. I can keep reverting those changes with git, but it is very
annoying.
What could be going on? I thought MSEide would at least support UTF-8 text?
Regards,
