Hi Douglas,

Well, I don't know what you sent, but you certainly sent it to the wrong person. Since Zach Weinberg is one of the FSF GCC guys, and mspgcc has yet to be merged with the main GCC, I'm sure he hadn't a clue what to make of your bug report. Complaining here is more likely to get results.

Well the problem has reached the right forum, but I still haven't seen test1.c. If you supply that we can try some experiments to see if this is a general problem or something related to the Cygwin build for Windows. Have you tried the MinGW builds?

Regards,
Steve

msp430-gcc.exe test1.c -mmcu=msp430x1121 -o test1

I'm afraid this problem description makes no sense to me.
Furthermore, you did not provide the file test1.c in your bug report,
and you appear to be using a version of gcc which is not distributed
by the FSF. Thus, it is impossible for me to attempt to reproduce
the problem.
This is the original rejection by Zack Weinberg . I did send test1.c with
it and perhaps it was overlooked. I have sent it in again and have not got
any feed back. This error is so serious it will happen with any source that
I have...perhaps there is one line of code out there that might work. I have
taken a reformated hard disk installed win98 and then gcc and the problem
exists. I suspect it may work for others becuase there is a component from a
prior install that is saving the day.

Hi Douglas,

And who, exactly, rejected your bug report?

Bug reports on this subject are welcome. More reports help build a
picture of what happens. The problem is figuring out what to do about
them. If I built with MinGW things seem more stable on Win98, but this
has its own problems. I cannot currently build GDB with MinGW, so a
completely MinGW build is not practical. When I try this stuff on Win98
and WinMe I have no trouble, I know some other people do. The difference
between machine that work and those that don't is a puzzle right now.

Steve

Hi all,
I have installed the lates version of MSPgcc under Win 98.
I tried to compile the example code test1.c from the MSPgcc website and

I'm getting segmentation fault. Am I missing something. What am I doing
wrong ?

Thanks in advance
