Technically you don't need system discovery if you have the agent out there already, and all systems being built with OSD, etc. will have the agent installed during their deployment method.
Also, have you set up your delete obsolete, inactive client and delete aged discovery settings - that will help remove those old objects (but I think they might get rediscovered in AD). Does your AD team clean, AD? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Justin P. White Sent: Tuesday, June 18, 2013 8:10 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [mssms] Tips on cleaning up my discovered computers Hi, just getting started with sccm 2012, I've successfully done a deployment of the client to my site, I'm looking for tips on cleaning up computers that probably shouldn't be 'detected' I did enable several active directory discoveries to find computers, I think that there are quite a few computers that were decommissioned or renamed, so there might be faulty computer names in AD right now. Should I disable the AD discoveries and just use the heartbeat and network discoveries in this case? I want to pursue any computers that did not install the client, but don't want to keep looking at computer names that shouldn't be there.
