Being on call is a great excuse to leave the mother-in-law's!!, Just get the server to page you when you think you will have had enough!!

If a server goes down and you know about it, you need to fix it. You cant wait until 8am when everyone needs it. I have been very lucky (or is it good?). My networks have always been pretty stable so I haven't had to do much midnight work.
