Hi networkers!

Wow! We agree on a name before we even read each other's proposals...

>How about making a small name competition?

Nah. It's too much trouble and it takes too long.

I was thinking of dedicating some WWW pages to the project. For now, it
could contain an archive of all the hardware designs and assembly sources.
Later a list of games and utils could be added.
Anyway, the WWW page would be much easier to refer to if the project has a
name.

>And the person who proposed it will get eternal lasting fame
>for it in the MSX networking community ;-)

I still need eternal lasting fame, because the fame I got from the BASIC
compo was only for a limited time ;)

>One more thing. How about the intellectual rights and copyrights for the
>hardware design, the protocols, the software drivers, etc. As this is a
>public project, I propose to make it completely free.

All work done on this list should be free.

But what about games and utils using the public hardware and software?
I would prefer it if they would be free, because the low price is one of
the most important benefits of the joystick network.
But I also think that software makers shouldn't be forced to make only free
software, they should be able to decide for themselves.

>For example by using the GNU public license used in the Linux world.

Please tell us more about the GNU license. I hear the name a lot, but I
don't know exactly what its terms are. For example, there is some rule
about distributing source code that is not clear to me.

Bye,
                Maarten
