] Ever occurred to you that Windows was still in Beta-stage then? It was the
] first time it was showed to public!
It indeed was the official release to the public. Hence, it was not a beta
release.

But then again, with many softwares on the win32 platform you can never see
the distinction between the beta release and the official release. All
releases are crap and unstable. Wether they come from Microsoft or from some
other software vendor. Which is not that surprising if you consider the
complexity and the total lack of design and consistency of the win32 api and
everything related. And the win32 api is HACKED together by Microsoft. So, we
do have to blame them for the mess that the Wintel world is in these days.

Now you may wonder why I still have win95 installed on my PC. Simple: because
some applications that I use run only under windows. Though, 95% of my time I
work under Linux because most applications that I want to use are also
available in a Linux flavor. And since the Linux/Unix api's are much better
designed, the applications running on top of them are also much more stable.
So no blue screens or crashes for me :-))

Kind regards,
