On MSX models without a buffer circuit between the MSX engine and the
joystick port, you can even blow up your whole MSX engine. And those models
do exist!

Kind regards,
Alex Wulms

 Reset your MSX with a joystick? It shorts the 5V to ground and that is a
] sure way to reset, and with some luck blow up the power supply.
]
] Be careful with the joystick ports: it is easy to blow up the ports and just
] as easy to blow up your power supply. So check and doublecheck these
] joystick connections.
