It's not released yet. Only a beta (no assembler, only
debugging features) for the people who have got
Compass 1.2. Which is already a very, very good
Assembly IDE-interface (yep).
It's just that Compass 2.0 will:

- assemble much faster: preprocessing of the
instructions; it is already assembled while you're
typing

- have a better shell: the current shell restarts Dos
/ Basic everytime, the new one will return to the same
state it had on the previous shell. And you can return
to Compass at almost every moment, even while
executing a DIR command! (which proceeds as normal
when you return)

- have a very good debugger: in combination with the
previous you can interrupt programs at almost every
moment and view the current state of the registers,
mapped pages, whatever, and you can return to the
program afterwards to proceed where you ended, Compass
will try to restore the previous state as good as
possible (by looking at the VDP registers backup and
the palette settings in VRAM, or by manual input or
some other possibilities; you can choose what you
want).

- have less old bugs and much new bugs: although
Compass 1.2.09 (current version afaik) is almost
bug-free, some annoying things will be corrected and
some annoying things will be created.

- have advanced command-line and scripting options,
and a editable configuration-file, very useful for
fast batch loading of all sourcebuffers, different
user profiles, different settings (i.e. label length
per source), and alot more.
