erhm, stupid question maybe, but wouldn't it be easier to
run your software on a MSX2 emulator? MSX2 has 80 columns
in SCREEN 0 by default...

Hm, probably, the 80-columns card contains more hardware
than just ROM, so just loading the ROM in your emu won't
help: the emu has to emulate the rest of the hardware as
well...
