For that problem, i think, you'll better ask Jon de Schrijder (I saw his
name several times in positngs to this list) than Rob Hiep, since AFAIK Jon
is the developer and Rob the distributor of the IDE interface

You guess it, so you don't know it for sure. I'm quite sure (almost 100%)
that the DOS2.3X kernel is only the COMMAND2.COM version 2.3x which needs a
DOS2 rom  to operate. That DOS2 rom is the same as the kernel COMMAND2.COM
version 2.20 or 2.40 use.

Can somebody else convince me that i'm wrong?

Is the DOS kernel version not only determined by the COMMAND2.COM version?
If not, would somebody tell me what's different in the ROM then?
