A one-chip MSX would be cool, however this effort is also very useful for
other things. What about Leonardo Padial's Z380+EV4 board for example. All
it needs in order to become a full-fledged MSX is the presence of a
cartridge with the common MSX peripherals like joystick-port, keyboard
interface, PSG, and not to forget, a VDP (I've still got a v9958 laying here
so for me such a board with an empty vdp socket would be ok aswell). If such
a thing would be made (I heard Padial himself was ALSO working on such a
thing himself), that would be like, cool.

Oh, and on a sidenote, the MSX1 VDP (TMS9918) has already been remade as an
FPGA by the Japanese, according to recent news it was working and fully
functional.

So, what I do notice here though, is a strong erm, 'segregation' of all the
efforts. As far as I know there are now at least five persons working on
kind of the same project. There's Marco Antonio's PSG, and Padial's efforts
(although I do not know exactly what he achieved as of yet I heard something
about the PPI already being in a working state), there's Ademir's SCC,
there's ESE's SCC, there's the Japanese project where they were creating the
abovementioned VDP (which Nishi's one-chip-msx would use). Also, I think all
these people are now working on building other peripherals aswell, and
there's definately an overlap.

Yet, these efforts aren't joined, which I think *really* is a shame. If all
these people would join their efforts, I honestly believe a one-chip MSX for
example could be made right now, or at least in the not-so-distant future,
say, within the year!

So, I must say I really agree with Snout here!
As I read in Ikeda's MSX-Print the Japanese people who built the TMS9918
already tried to contact people from Brazil to cooperate, and I think it
would be nice if that offer would be accepted!

Well, in any case, keep up the good work, and keep us updated! I think it's
great to let us know like this on the mailinglist, 'cause usually 'we'
aren't informed about such projects this well.
