I'm not so sure about that Ed. If Arsenal become champions then we will probably be able to say there has been a power shift in English football domestically with them possibly doing 2 in a row.
YESSSSSS - as I write this Newcastle have F*****g whacked one in, you'd never know. But imagine if they (Arsenal) are crowned champions in the first week of May & a couple of weeks later we are crowned champions of Europe? Wouldn't that be upstaging them totally? Yet another sign we are a superior club to them? The quest for European glory is special to Manchester United probably moreso than any other club because of Matt Busby taking his side into Europe against the wishes of the powers that be in England & recovering from losing his players in Munich to reach the holy grail on 29-5-68. Continuing the Manchester United tradition of bringing in young players, playing excellent football and in doing so trying to win everything possible, is far more important to me (probably most others too) than ribbing other fans. After a trophyless season last year, I'll take any trophy this time around, starting with March 2nd. (Lauren Robert has just been sent off for Newcastle so I expect an Arsenal win is on the cards. Who says we get all the refereeing decisions? Do we f***?). -----Original Message----- From: ed_hbk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I think this again goes back to practising for Europe, and perhaps we'll win the Champions League, but to me that's a far second to the Premiership.
