Great! I usually don't see the 599 response, so the applications
probably are loaded by default.

I bought the Zaurus recently and haven't made much use of it yet.  I may
switch ROMs later, but I'm content with the 2.38 ROM for now.  I have
some tcpdumps that show the communication between the Qtopia Desktop and
the Zaurus.  When I get a chance, I'll clean them up, add some comments,
and send them to you.
