Check with the manufacturer. A cursory glance seems to indicate that your 
Nokia model does support IrMC.

Well, the plugin is attempting to communicate with the device, so a 
failure to do so can mean a setup problem or that your device doesn't 
support IrMC at all. I'm not sure if it is possbile to distinguish between 
the two. I agree that more debug information would be useful.

How are you attempting to do the connection? Via IR or Bluetooth?
