Vasu, I use a scr3xx usb reader.

I ditched the activcard stuff and just use coolkey. The question is,
do you just want to check webmail with CAC? If so, you should not
need activcard, and it's bloated anyway.

Hi,

I have installed fedora core 6 on my laptop and using the kernel '2.6.19.1'.

I have the SCR-241 smart card reader(PCMCIA). I found the linux driver
for this reader from the SCM website(SCR24x) and installed it. The
driver recognizes the
reader and creats the node thru' 'udev'.

I need to use the 'activcard' on this smart card reader. When I place the
activcard on this reader, the SCR24x driver detects this card (I built the
driver with debug on).

Now, I don't know how to access this activcard. Fedora core 6 comes with
the application called 'Smart Card manager'. But, it doesn't recognize
this activcard. It basically says no smart cards are present.

So, I am looking for some help on what are the next steps here.

- Has someone successfully used 'activcard' on linux, possibly using
the SCM PCMCIA card.?

- I see that there is a 'activcard gold' application available for Linux. Do I
need to buy this software? Does someone have any experience here?

- How can I debug this further? Is there some documents available on
using 'smartcard' on linux?

Thanks,
