Interesting.  The AV180  has a SAA7134 onboard, and I am using
it and recording/saving digital Audio in the mpeg2 stream.  And, no audio
patch cord.  So, everything is across the PCI bus.

That was the exact issue I had with my Pinnacle tuner.  I couldn't figure out
which device to set to capture sound.  So, I shelved it.

I picked up an Electroline 8-Port "Active Return" amp when I started playing
with mythtv.  Works pretty well for me.
