I suspect this is you seeing a long-standing issue which I keep on meaning 
to investigate. The problem you're seeing here is probably mvpmc seeking 
past the end of a recording. I believe that the bitrate calculation code 
has a bug/problem in it somewhere which is leading to occasionally wildly 
wrong values coming out of it which cause seeks to jump too far ahead.

This belief seems to be backed up by the fact that I've never seen the 
problem of jumping to black when using the left/right arrows around the 
"OK" button to jump 1% of the filesize (which doesn't reference the 
bitrate of the recording).
