I've been having a problem for a while that seemed to start sometime after I started using the nightlies that had the commskip updates (thought I didn't use mvpmc much before that). I can power the MVP on and off all day with the remote with no problems. However, it seems that the first time I start it up in the morning it has problems.
I don't know why it would matter, but if I leave my computer on overnight I can start up fine, but if it is shut down overnight the MVP won't load properly. mvpmc is set up to see a couple of SMB shares and the MythTV database on my backend/main computer. Normally on a soft power up the mvpmc version screen shows up and various tasks flicker by as the progress bar increases. The first time each day when I power up it just shows the first item, then the screen blacks out and it comes up again. It just loops like that until I yank the power cord and start from scratch. At one point when it was in that loop I tried to telnet into the MVP but could not. That leads me to believe I won't be able to get any logs out of it, either. Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this?
