OK, so much for that thought... >> Post your dongle.bin.conf. > > I was thinking the .config file was only read on a hard power on, and the > soft power on/off did not. That's my understanding as well, but the dongle.bin.conf would reveal your startup options, which might lead to the cause of your problem. > Here's the config (also attached). But you should be able to telnet to it while mvpmc is still "powered down" and run some command to answer some of the questions you raised, like whether the box still has an assigned IP address. > Is there perhaps some timeout on the DHCP lease or SMB connection > that drops overnight, causing problems in the morning? Sure, that sounds possible. The lease duration is determined by your DHCP server. Though even if the MVP has lost its IP and thus effectively lost its net access, I'm not sure why that would cause the startup (not bootup) to fail. I've never packet traced the startup to see what net resources it tries to access. > Here's one thing I just thought - the DHCP server on my backend > doesn't start automatically. And that's true, providing you set an infinite lease, and never need to reboot the MVP. -Tom ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
