Like another commenter, I am unsure what you mean by "article". If you mean a single wiki entry, then I disagree. I played with mwlib to create a beta-test user manual from information on our in-house wiki. In many cases, the information within a wiki article is less than one printed page, and for our scenario it would be extremely undesirable to start each article on a new page. (Typically, our customers require a printed copy and in our scenario with the one article per page constraint that would not be very cost effective or environmentally friendly.) If that option is desirable for you, it would be best if there is also a mechanism to disable it.
