Richard, thanks for the suggestions. The issue I have with 1 below is that is resets the recurrence. So suppose I'm 5 tasks into a recurring task with 10 instances. If I change the due date of the 5th task as you suggest, it thinks I'm basically creating a new recurring task starting with the new due date and will recurr 10 times. In cases where that's not an issue, then I think your first suggestion will work. I'll give it a try.
