Richard could you explain what you mean by "one off" subtasks? Presumably, a recurrence is something that you would want to repeat. So the subtasks of the occurrence are something that you would, also, want to repeat each and every time. I use subtasks of a simple recurrence as the steps to complete that recurrence. So yea, they should recur every time the recurrence is recreated.
As for how Andrey implemented recurrences. There is always, only, one version of the occurrence. When it is totally completed the subtasks are "cleared" of their completion information and the existing recurrence is "re-used" as the new recurrence. Then a new non-recurring task is created with the top level recurrence caption. And that is what is marked complete. So Andrey doesn't create a new recurrence each time. To me if you want to do something different "this time" then it shouldn't be part of the original recurrence. You need to duplicate the recurrence, skip the original occurrence and then remove the recurrence feature from the duplicate. Now you have a non-recurring task that you can modify any way you want. Yea, personally, I'd like an option to create these steps in one step. I just have no idea what to call it. ++++++++++++++++++++++ As for "catching up" on a recurring task that is multi-days behind, I think you want to be able to do it either way and Andrey provides you that ability. It's just that "how you want to do it" isn't the default. As an example, if you are multiple days behind a daily recurrence, you can use the skip feature to catch up in one step. So the step is: Select the recurrence task in your list. Right click and select skip recurrence But now, in the pop-up window select *"skip all occurrences up to today"* And now you are "caught up". The recurrence now shows up due today... -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MyLifeOrganized" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
