Just a very quick reply re this being the way that other task managers work. I am pretty certain that Outlook works in the way that I have just requested: if you have a recurring appointment with a reminder and you have missed multiple recurrences - when you clear the reminder, it skips all the intermediate reminders and only reminds you again when you reach the next recurrennce. So I am not alone. 200m Outlook users can't be wrong!!
