Hi, Brienne. The Pro version of MLO for Android gives you access to some advanced functionality, like creating recurrent tasks, the nearby and projects views, etc. The free version is totally usable and you can sync with your desktop for free using wifi sync.
When you first download MLO to your phone you start a trial period in which you can use the pro features for free. The trial lasts a limited time, I don't remember how long (maybe a month) but it shows you how long you have left and gives reminders as the end gets close. During the trial, the free Pro features are flagged so you should notice when you use them. If, during the trial, you discover that the Pro features are useful to you and are worth the cost, you should buy a Pro license. Should I buy? Hello Lifer, thank you so much for posting this question! Believe it or not, I am exactly in the same spot and also hesitant to buy now. My main concern is the trouble with wifi sync and, of course, the pending major update. I hate to sound like the Grinch but money really is an issue at the time being and the past upgrades ranged at about 20 Dollars *if* I remember correctly. I still dont know what to do; this list and the other (for android) is very active though and many of these people here are very, very helpful. So the community is both friendly and supportive, - that is very important for me when buying software (especially a program that is not so easy to master). I would like to throw in another question that is directly related to the purchase: I am not sure if I do need android pro or not. Lets say, I would like to sync at least one way; so I have android tasks in my desktop application. I am not sure if I need the pro version for android or not? And I think I remember a couple of weeks ago I saw a bundle of MLO pro (desktop) plus android license - was this changed or did I miss it on the purchase page?
