Andrey et al, A very nice and not hard to implement feature would be to separate the first instance from a recurring task. It would reset the recurring task to the next recurrence as if it had been completed, then create (right above the recurring task) a copy with the current recurrence. Just like alternative complete but without the complete part and without moving the original task to the bottom.
So for example, recurring task "take out the trash" every Tuesday. Trash isn't coming because it's a holiday week. Separate instance creates non-recurring task for this Tuesday and moves recurring task to next Tuesday.
