Hi

Sorry I hate to differ Dwight but I just tried exactly what you suggest and
it simply isn't working as you describe.

Yes, it seems that "Set as default for this tab" has the effect of setting
which view on that tab will appear when you double click on it, plus an
asterisk appears if you select a different view.

And yes, it seems that "Lock default in this tab" has the effect of
stopping me from deleting the tab. Plus if I attempt to change view whilst
in that tab, then a new tab is opened.

BUT none of the above seems to have the slightest effect on either the
sequence of the rows across the page relative to each other nor their
horizontal positions.

I even tried getting all the tabs as I want them and closing the whole
program. But even then after you open the program again, the simple act of
clicking on different will after a whole break the columns. What is strange
is that immediately it breaks for one workspace any other workspace that
has the same view in it (albeit set as default and locked) will have the
column change in exactly the same way. So it does FEEL like the columns are
part of the views themselves, rather than being anything to do with the
tabs....

Nope as things stand nothing will keep the columns anything like how I want
them and until someone can tell me how to stop the column from leaping back
to what they were, seemingly with minds of their own, I say:

b-u-g !

P.S. There are a couple unexpected things too:
a) If a tab has been locked you can still change the columns - on a
temporary basis at least.
b) "Sync Zoom with first tab" keeps unticking itself on all the tabs. I
