The takeaway here would be that problems setting the default note app are 
not problems with MLO. Thay are problems with Google Assistant. If Google 
Assistant does not want to pass notes to MLO there's nothing MLO can do 
about it, you have to fix it in your own Google Assistant. Try searching 
this:

This will find lots of posts about suggested ways of changing the offending 
setting, maybe one of them will match the Assistant version that you have.
