Attacked some of the low-hanging usability fruit here, *see attached patch*:
- drag with brush icon and target border
- no more white-background-only rows
- draw with the user's currently chosen style, not hardcoded white
- change drag action (keypress) during drag
Note this patch makes Copy the default drag action, and you need to press
Shift to get Move. But you change you mind during the drag and the icon
reflects it :) This is the default way GTK dragging does it, and it's also
what's specified in the GNOME HIG:
http://library.gnome.org/devel/hig-book/stable/input-mouse.html.en#drag-drop
, but it can be changed. However I'm used to it in Nautilus and probably
elsewhere.
Currently (post-patch) you can drag the current selected brush from
/anywhere/ on the widget, i.e. from the white background too even when it's
not under the mouse pointer. This might be surprising: any good workarounds?
