Follow-up Comment #5, bug #18302 (project mypaint):
Thanks for the workaround. The bold-without-highlight look is actually
pretty nice with the theme.
I did some more testing, this time with the gtk-qt-engine (which makes Gtk+
call Qt4 to draw the actual widgets), and discovered it works fine *unless*
the Qt4 theme is Oxygen. That's interesting, because the oxygen-gtk theme
doesn't use the Qt widgets - it's a normal theme designed to mimic the Qt4 one
- so that means the problem is with Oxygen+MyPaint, specifically.
I don't know what distro you use, but Debian-based ones package the theme as
gtk2-engines-oxygen. It doesn't depend on anything KDE or Qt, so it should be
safe to use as a GNOME or Xfce theme for testing.
Not to derail the bug report, but I have a question about the
TreeView+ListStore combo you mentioned: could that be used to implement layer
grouping? It's an awesome feature that I wish I'd thought to file a "wish"
report for before now. In fact, I think I'll file it in a bit when I can
write it out properly. :)
