Follow-up Comment #3, bug #18548 (project mypaint):
Oh. Apparently it only happens with the classic - knife brush.
The knife brush produces a slightly different hue than the other basic
brushes.
I used ctrl - left click to pick the colors.
It seems that the brush's output hue difference compared to the selected
color is about 10 degrees in the color wheel.
