Anyone try to submit this to Slashdot yet? In my opinion, what the NYT realizes is most important is a reputation of accurate and fair reporting. Their article was inaccurate and sensational. Highlighting that on a large scale would put it into the spotlight that they are perhaps not a reputable news source for technology. (I had not even thought of trying to trade TV shows and had not seen any posting of other people even thinking about it until after the story)
Having the petition posted on Slashdot would allow for a large community of people to sign the petition and post their displeasure at inaccurate reporting. If nothing else it would point this out to the greater community. Perhaps even the NYT would acknowledge that they made a mistake and not further alienate honest respectable people. I am more than willing to submit it, but I am not a developer or someone who might have more weight. Regards; Dan On Tue, 1 Feb 2005 08:58:29 -0500, Joseph A.
