I am a big fan of the Snapstream Firefly USB remote. It has a great
button layout for mythtv and a good user feel.

The remote is RF so it doesn't need line of sight. You can mount the
small receiver inside your case and plug it into a USB port. Range is
about 10-15meters and works well thru a wall or two. I have my myth box
inside a closet behind the TV with a small hole for the video cables.

Works great with the atiusb driver in lirc. 16 channels so you can have
several remotes in the same area without conflicts. Only drawback is
its a bit expensive (about US$45) from online vendors.

Lirc does not include a lircd.conf file for it... it requires a slightly
weird file but I can send mine out to anyone who emails me. I need to
get the file submitted to the lirc folks one of these days.
