I personally use NFS over 100Mbit (wired) network to view stored videos but use the local hard drive for recording. I have a 1TB RAID-5 on the server that I just archive shows that I want to keep and DVD-rips. I believe storage is so cheap that there is no reason not to just put a big (160GB+) hard drive in your myth box, that way you don't have to worry about performance issues or network failures. -- Loren H.
