Well, you can lower the resolution to 480 x480 and lower. There is a difference but most people like me aren't bothered by it especially if you don't plan to save the recording very long.
Also you can lower the video and audio bitrates. If you cut the video bitrate to 2200 from 4500 it cuts the space by half. Lower the audio bitrate from 384 to 192 cuts about 80MB per hour. I also change the profiles so that they are different to keep my options flexible. I usually keep my "High Quality" profile as the original and change my "Low Quality" and "Default" profiles.
