Having trouble getting my system to boot CPM from the CF card. I have just the following loaded in my backplane:
4Meg mem. board with 1 pair of chips Prop I/O card The Z80 CPU and the IDE card. I am using the card options shown on John's S100 page. John M.'s CPU monitor seems to run fine. When I load a CF card (tried with different cards, same result) and boot with the monitor "P" command, I get: CP?M V3.0 Loader Copyright (C) 1980, Digital Research BDOS ERR: Perm. And that's it. There is a "40" display on the IDE card, which I take to mean Sector 40 was being read? I've not had time to read/in detail all the posts, due to personal circumstances; so I may have missed something. I have seen mention about options on some of the cards- is there a compendium of all these somewhere for the CPM load? I would like to use this thread for questions and suggestions for the documentation. I assume a lot of you can verify whether they work or not. I believe they should. I have verified the serial ones do work. I am opening another thread for suggestions for going forward. I want to cover how to build and customize the actual cpmldr and cpm3.sys files. I will leverage a lot of what John has done and David Fry will contribute his work on the LBA addressing changes that made this all work. Let me know how it goes.
