Thanks Gary, Sorry about the hair pulling... the output port is also "tainted" because bit 0 is used for the shadow business. I hope to address this in V2 and keep the parallel I/O free for future use.

Just in case is saves someone else a bit of hair pulling - switching JP5 (rom shadowing jumper) to the 2-3 upper setting requires that you have J5 (8212) installed.
