Has anyone heard of this? To: [email protected] Date: Wednesday, February 18, 2009, 1:56 PM Tell us how you really feel, LOL. That is why I'm asking about this OPI business, because it's been my experience that the NSS automatically say "We use OPI" when anyone questions them. However, this girl does not fit the "NSS" bill completely, yet she works at what could be termed an NSS salon. The whole powder gel thing from OPI in Europe just stinks IMHO but since their website wouldn't open up for me, I couldn't go there to verify, and I want to be able to have the info from the horse's mouth before I counter back about what I suspect she's using. Allow me to hop up and down, shaking my fists, and then beat my head against a brick wall for a minute.... Ok. GEL IS NOT A POWDER! Ever. And I cannot express my disgust enough with product manufacturers who repeatedly market products AS "powder gel." I don't care if you use powder to reinforce "real" gel-- it's doesn't make it powder gel! Our manufacturers NEED to get it into their heads that we are battling a sleazy section of our industry that is totally lacking in integrity who is taking advantage of an ignorant consumer base-- they need to STOP confusing our consumer market by marketing "powder gels!" This only perpetuates and deepens the confusion and leads to more consumers getting ripped off by people who are doing nothing more than powder/liquid acrylics and calling it "powder gel!" Gel is NOT a powder! To: [email protected] Date: Wednesday, February 18, 2009, 1:12 PM It could be something like the hybrid that Star Nail or LeChat Gelee have, if those products are still being made, but in all likelihood it is good ol' MMA with a gel topcoat. The liquid and powder together are marketed as "powder gel" to an ignorant public. BTW, are there any OPI folk on the list who could tell me something? One of my students works in a salon and she uses a "powder gel" as she called it, and said it was from OPI. When I questioned further, she said it came from Europe. Does OPI manufacture such a product? I can't seem to access their website right now to check for myself, but it sounded fishy, nonetheless.
